You can customize the way that the Activity Title displays for an Activated Checklist. There are many scenarios for why you'd want to update these fields, however, the ultimate goal is for it to be clear what the fields are for when using an Activated Checklist.

To update the Activity Title, select the Settings icon.

On the Activity Title tab there are four fields that you can update.

For this article, we will use the example of an Activated Checklist used for a Purchasing Process.

  • Label Text: this is what the field is called, the default value is "Activity Title", but it can be changed.

    Ask yourself: What name makes more sense? As this checklist is related to a purchasing process, instead of "Activity Title" we will use "Purchase Item and Supplier Name". To change this, in the Label Text field enter how you would like this field to display. Note: you have 5 words or fewer for this field

  • Help Text: this is the text that appears when you hover over the question mark icon next to the "Activity Title". The default text is "Enter a title that represents the work you are doing". In this example, we'll change it to "Enter details of the product or service and the supplier name"

  • Placeholder Text: this is the text visible in the field, the default is "Enter the title of the activity". In this case, we'll update it to "Product or Service and Supplier Name"

  • Default Value: this is an optional field. Default Value enables you to choose a default title for the instance to be populated each time "Run" is selected. For example, you may like to indicate what the checklist initiator will enter into the field i.e. [Product / Service] - [Supplier Name].

    You can use Tokens to prefill information by clicking +Add token to the default value. This allows you to add date or time information and even include a name, for example, adding today's date and the initiators name i.e. [Product / Service] - [Supplier Name] - {{dd MMM yyyy}} - {{initiator name}}

  • Once you've updated each field, click Save.

Running the Checklist

When you go to "Run" the checklist, it will now display these new values.
