Documents that are attached to policies and procedures within your Company Manual may need to be updated from time to time. When this happens, it is important to understand that there is no connection between uploaded attachments and documents stored on your local computer.

Uploading a file is like making a copy of the file. The copy is stored on the Way We Do server as part of the Company Manual and is no longer connected to your computer or the original file. Changes that are later made to the document will not be reflected in the attachment online. In order to update attachments, it will be necessary to delete the current attachment and upload the updated file as a new attachment.

  1. To do this, click the Attachment icon on the right side of the screen to open the Attachments list. It is the one that looks like a paperclip.

  2. On the Attachments list, click the Delete button next to the file you want to delete.

  3. Click Upload a File and select the updated file from your computer.

  4. The updated file will now be available in the list of attachments.

If you linked to the old attachment from the content in your Company Manual, it will be necessary to recreate the link so that it points to the new attachment. For more information on how to link to attachments read How to attach files and link to them within your policy or procedure.
